Crowns are used to restore teeth, which are very broken down or poorly shaped. They are usually made from yellow, gold or porcelain. At our practice we only use the best quality technicians to provide us with crowns that are not only stunning to look at but strong and durable.

Veneers are thin porcelain facings, which are permanently bonded onto the front of teeth. They can beautifully disguise discoloured, disfigured, heavily restored or worn down teeth.

Tooth whitening has become extremely popular over the last few years and it is easy to see why. The results are in most cases amazing; with on average a lightening up of 8 shades. Contact us now to give you a free assessment to decide if you are suitable and what method to go for.

Dental implants are titanium fixtures that serve as replacements for the root portion of a missing natural tooth. They can be placed into the upper and lower jaws and will bond (osseointegrate) with the bone and thus serve as an anchor for the replacement tooth or teeth.

They have a number of advantages over more traditional techniques such as bridges or dentures

  • They prevent shrinkage of the jaw bone which can make the face look older
  • Adjacent teeth do not need to be ground down as in the case of bridges
  • They are not removable like a denture so are more stable and comfortable
  • If you already have a denture as few as 2 implants can improve its retention and stability

We are happy to take referrals for surgery and prosthetic implant cases from our colleagues click here to refer.

We use only the best composite resin materials to obtain very lifelike restorations. They have a number of distinct advantages over more traditional silver amalgam restorations.

  • Aesthetically superior
  • Mercury-free
  • Strengthens the tooth by chemical bonding thereby reducing the chance of tooth fracture

For patients wishing to remove their amalgam restorations safely, we use a sheet of latex called a ‘rubber dam’. This affectively seals the tooth from the rest of the mouth and prevents any swallowing of the old amalgam restoration.

We would then restore the tooth with a mercury-free restoration

GUM SHIELDS - we believe that your child should only have the best well fitting custom made sports gum shield rather than the inferior off the shelf products. This is because they fit better and so dissipate any blows to the mouth area more evenly. this would reduce the likelihood of any damage to the underlying teeth. All our gum shields come with £1000 worth of insurance should any injury occur whilst wearing it.

FISSURE SEALANTS - these are preventative resin coatings placed into the fissures of molar teeth in children. They are designed to prevent food and bacteria from lodging in these hard to clean areas and thereby reduce the chance of tooth decay starting.

GUM DISEASE - we take the prevention of gum disease so importantly that we have three hygienists working with us. They will go through with you the cause of gum disease and how best to avoid it with optimum home care as well as performing thorough cleaning of your teeth and gums.

We encourage regular visits to the hygienists to encourage and monitor good oral hygiene practices and to keep any gum disease from returning.

For more severe cases, we have the services of Drs Nicola West and Roger Yates from the Bristol Perio Clinic.

Orthodontics is essentially the movement of misaligned teeth by the use of orthodontic appliances (braces) in order to improve their appearance and function.

Our specialist orthodontist Joe McGill provides both adult and children’s orthodontic treatment. There is are a wide range of appliances available ranging from the simple removable type to fixed brackets and even invisible appliances placed on the tongue side of the teeth.

Root fillings are needed when the roots of the teeth become infected with bacteria. This can arise from an especially deep cavity or trauma. The end result is a painful abscess beneath the tooth which unless is root treated has to be extracted.

All our cases are treated to the highest standards performing each case under a protective rubber dam using the best equipment available.

We have been taking referrals for endodontics from our colleagues for many years. We will assess any referred patient and discuss with them what is involved. Once the case has been completed any referred patient will be referred back to his or her own dentist. To refer please click here or contact us.
